Pattni Connection Celebrating 16th Anniversary
We celebrate our 16th website
anniversary in a sombre but in hopeful mood amid coronavirus
pandemic.
No one ever imagined a pandemic like this could happen in our lifetime that has taken a heavy
toll on all of us. From weddings to funerals, the coronavirus had
cancelled life's biggest moments and leaving families heartbroken.
Our Parajiya Pattni Soni community too was hit hard and suffered
many deaths. Throughout history, nothing has killed more human beings than
this infectious disease. Covid-19 shows how vulnerable we remain.
We pay our obeisance to all those who have sadly passed away and pray for
speedy recovery to those who are currently hospitalised or recovering at
home.
Let us hope that with the vaccine
rollout there will be a light at the end of the tunnel and our lives go back to
normal.
Pattni Connection History
Firstly, I would like to welcome hundreds of new members who have subscribed to
our mailing list, Facebook group and those regularly visiting our website by
making it their home page.
It was sixteen years ago on 24th
February 2005 when I created the first page of the website and called it Pattni Connection and shared the page with
around 30 community friends and relatives.
The rest is history as it has become the household name in our community
globally.
The website has grown even stronger since I handed over the ownership and the
decision making of the website to the Advisory Panel that then formed Pattni
Connection Limited.
Join our dynamic team
If you wish to serve the
community either on the Advisory Panel or as webmasters then do please contact
the Panel chairman Bharatbhai Pattni or any member of panel or webmasters.
Unity is strength
When I started the website in
2005, there was no other social media like Facebook, WhatsApp, etc.,. In less
than a generation, social media has evolved from direct electronic
information exchange.
Many community committee and individual members have since started Facebook and
WhatsApp groups in English and Gujarati. I am delighted to note that most of
these groups work closely with Pattni Connection thus making it one global
family.
I am confident that with the new dynamic team at the helm, it will strengthen
the existing setup of Pattni Connection for the benefit of our future
generation.

Coronavirus COVID-19 Pandemic
We are in unprecedented times in the entire world as right now and there is a huge amount of fear over the Coronavirus pandemic. Governments around the world are responding to the covid-19 pandemic and social distancing is a central aspect of plans to limit the spread of the coronavirus. Most of the countries are in lockdown.
Effects to our community
COVID-19 is having a serious effect to our community. From weddings to funerals, the coronavirus is canceling life's biggest moments and leaving families heartbroken.
Text Message received from the UK Government:
GOV.UK CORONAVIRUS ALERT New rules in force now: you must stay at home. More info & exemptions at www.gov.uk/coronavirus . Stay at home. Protect the NHS. Save lives.
Sobering forwarded Message received from a friend:
I want to stay anonymous so that the hospital I work for is not obvious. I want to make people understand the importance of staying home.
I work on a coronavirus ward. Majority are elderly or 50+ with underlying conditions. Majority of the patients are Asian. Today in just 4 hours we had 5 deaths.
1 patient came to the ward and within 1 hour he died. The family are not allowed to see the body or spend the last few minutes with them because of infection risk.
Stay Away from Your Elders
These elderly patients did not leave their house. They did not travel. But they did have family come to visit. What I want to ask you is. Do you really want to be responsible for your mothers death? Do you want to be responsible for your fathers death? Do you want to be responsible for your grand parents death?!
It is well known most young people and most health people are carriers of coronavirus and can infect 3 people every time they go out. It is highly contagious.
Do you think the government and healthcare professionals are asking you to stay home for a joke? Do you think this pandemic is a joke?
Please. I am begging you. For humanity’s sake. Stay at home and stop visiting family. Stop meeting friends for coffee. Stop holding dawuts. Stop hugging! Just stop and listen to the advice given!
Because when all of this is over and you lose someone. You won’t have coronavirus to blame. You’ll only have YOURSELF to blame. All because you disobeyed the government advice given. Ask yourself. Is that dawut/coffee meet up really worth it?
Let us look out for our community and family members.
Let us keep connected through Pattni Connection.
Stay informed. Stay Connected.
